From 1 January 2027, every QLD home needs interconnected photoelectric alarms in each bedroom, the connecting hallways, and on every storey. Most homes need more alarms than the owner thinks. As the deadline nears, stock and electricians get harder to book, and prices climb. Ours do not.
Selling? This one bites now, not in 2027. A buyer can legally deduct 0.15% of your sale price at settlement if your alarms are not compliant. On a $750k home that is around $1,125 gone. We can have your same-day certificate sorted before your open home.
Deadline per the Queensland Fire Department. Alarms comply with AS 3786:2014.
Queensland homeowners keep warning each other about the smoke alarm trade. These are real words from people who got burned.
“The customer service centre appeared to be overseas... like a 'Computer says no' scene in Little Britain.”
ProductReview, national operator“I waited 1.5 hours for them to show up to an appointment. They never came. Then they outright lied to me.”
ProductReview, June 2026“The inspectors came back saying the alarms were not compliant and wanted to sell us their own for $620... a lot of scare-tactic stuff. Turns out it was a lie.”
OzBargain, Brisbane homeowner“I increasingly think this whole smoke alarm industry is a croc, taking advantage of people's fear.”
OzBargainIf you have heard the stories, that is exactly why we do it differently. A local licensed electrician, a real person on the phone, one honest price, and a certificate in your hand the same day.
The rest of the market runs "from $99*" hooks that turn into good/better/best tiers once they are at your door. We do not. $98 covers everything below. The only extra is a one-off $33 booking fee, told to you up front.

DIY kit sellers are everywhere right now. For a lot of Queensland homes, that cheap kit is a false economy that leaves you non-compliant.
We fit alarms tested to AS 3786 and hand you the compliance certificate the same day, for $98 per alarm. Done once, done right.
Licensed Goldsure electricians only, never unlicensed subcontractors. We call before we arrive, install at every required location, clean up after ourselves, and hand you the Certificate of Compliance before we leave.
Your Certificate of Compliance is issued on completion, clearly documented and recorded. Your paper trail is fully handled, and the certificate is accepted by your conveyancer and insurer.
Quality photoelectric alarms tested to AS 3786, with a 10-year non-replaceable battery, installed by a licensed QLD electrician and backed by a 10-year product and workmanship warranty. Done once, done right.
Interconnected photoelectric alarms certified to AS 3786, with a 10-year non-replaceable battery so there is no annual battery change. When one sounds, they all sound. We size and place them to the law, so your home passes first time.
Real Goldsure electricians, not a faceless franchise or an offshore call centre. You speak to a local, a licensed electrician does the work, and you get your certificate before they leave.

Called to enquire about making my home smoke alarm compliant. The process was easy, electrician came, installed 5 new smoke alarms. Very happy.
Couldn't be happier with the install. Whole process was easy from placing order to booking, and the cost was very reasonable.
Goldsure made getting our smoke alarms installed super easy. Great communication, quick install, top job. Highly recommend!
We're not a southern franchise working out of a call centre. This is home - from the Southside, down the M1, to the Gold Coast.
Chances are we've installed in your street this month.

Yes. $98 covers the compliant photoelectric alarm, installation and interconnection by a licensed electrician, correct placement, testing, and your same-day Certificate of Compliance. One price for every alarm, no good/better/best tiers. The only extra is a one-off $33 booking fee, told to you up front.
Only if your home has no existing hard-wired alarms. If your home already has hard-wired (240V) alarms, Queensland law requires them to be replaced like-for-like by a licensed electrician. A DIY battery kit there leaves you non-compliant and can void your home insurance. We will tell you honestly which your home needs.

Yes. Compliance is already required at the point of sale.
